Frontier has finally gone public with its OTT video plans, announcing its new FreedomTV service to target consumers who don't want to purchase a linear TV service.
Leveraging TiVo's Roamio OTA DVR, the service provider is offering FreedomTV as part of a bundle that includes broadband access, a TiVo DVR designed to record over-the-air broadcast TV, and the ability to stream SVOD services like Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) and Amazon Prime Video (NASDAQ: AMZN), as well as a digital TV antenna.
News of FreedomTV should not be of any great surprise. In May, Frontier's CEO Dan McCarthy told investors that it began a trial with TiVo to develop an OTT offering. Check out this FierceCable report.
