GTT increases Asia-Pacific play by establishing network presence in Tokyo

Virtual network operator GTT has added Tokyo to its list of international destinations by establishing a point of presence (PoP) in Japan's capitol city to provide multinational corporations a connection point into Asia.

Located at 3-8-21 Higashi Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, the new PoP will connect MNCs to other global locations through its EtherCloud Ethernet services. EtherCloud provides MNCs with private, public or hybrid cloud networking options.

By going into Tokyo, GTT will complement its presence in the Singapore and Hong Kong markets.

The expansion into Tokyo is part of GTT's ongoing transformation into a larger global Ethernet player. GTT has been expanding its Ethernet and cloud-based service sets to cloud network providers serving enterprise, government and carrier customers in over 80 countries.

Complementing its own organic growth initiatives, GTT earlier this year purchased Inteliquent's global data services business. This acquisition gave it the EtherCloud wholesale platform that enables its network partners to buy and sell global Ethernet and VPLS connectivity.
