Integra Telecom offers SIP interoperability with Mitel's IP PBXs

Integra Telecom is following up the earlier debut of its SIP Solutions service by partnering with Mitel to offer SIP interoperability on the PBX maker's communication systems.

This new agreement will ensure that any business or agents that sell Mitel's 5000 Communications Platform PBXs will work with Integra's SIP Trunking service. Integra previously earned Mitel SIP Trunking Interoperability certification with the Mitel Communications Director (MCD) and the Mitel 5000 Communications Platform (CP).

The agreement is not just relegated to Mitel alone, but rather part of a broader effort by the CLEC to expand the number of IP PBXs certified to operate with its SIP Trunking service. Integra also has certifications with other IP PBX vendors including Allworx, Ingate, NEC and Toshiba.

By creating this agreement, Integra will be able to offer business customers a bundled package that combines its SIP Trunking service with the Mitel IP PBX solution. Since most SMBs lack in-house IT knowledge or resources, the bundled offering will give this market segment a solution that allows them to consolidate their telecom services and equipment with one carrier that's supported with project coordination, installation, training, and ongoing customer service.
