KPN's CFO steps down after less than year on job

KPN Chief Financial Officer Eric Hageman has resigned from his post for what the Dutch telco said were personal reasons.

His departure comes as the Dutch telco has emerged as an acquisition target by Carlos Slim's America Movil (NYSE: AMX) telecom conglomerate.

America Movil already owns a 30 percent stake in the company.

Hagerman has only been CFO of KPN for about a year.

KPN said in a statement that Hagerman made an "important contribution" for two key company initiaitves: raising $3.97 billion in a rights issue this spring and selling its German subsidiary E-Plus to Telefonica.
