RCN Business continues New York City push with 450-460 Park Avenue connection

RCN Business has made another move to advance its presence in the New York City market by bringing its business services to 450-460 Park Avenue in Manhattan.

By establishing a presence at this location, RCN Business will become a new alternative provider for various companies in key vertical markets such as technology, education, medical, financial services, entertainment and media.

Like its recent expansions into New York City's Empire State building, businesses that reside at 450-460 Park Ave. will have access to the entire RCN suite of enterprise services, including dedicated Internet access, point-to-point and point-to-multi-point Ethernet connections, high-definition video, hosted voice solutions and SIP/PRI voice trunks.

"We continue to expand in high-profile buildings throughout New York City because we recognize the increasing need for the most advanced communications services possible," states Bruce Abbott, vice president and general manager, RCN New York City, in a release.

Although it will have to contend with luring new customers from established incumbents like Verizon, one of the potential differentiators RCN Business can bring to 450-460 Park Ave. is the service provider will leverage dual and diverse entrances into the building to maintain uptime for services provided over its fiber network.

Network expansion, particularly in the New York City area, has been an ongoing mission for RCN Business. Besides establishing connections into 450-460 Park Ave., the service provider has been actively taking part in the data center interconnection opportunity by establishing a point of presence (PoP) at the 325 Hudson meet me room in New York City.
