Showtime's Christie: Amazon and Hulu have changed from being competitors to partners

Showtime, like many other premium network providers, initially saw over the top players like Hulu and Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) as a threat. But now the company sees those SVOD providers as a way to attract a new base of cord-nevers and cord-cutters. The company hopes that it will be able to also work with Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) in the same capacity some day. 

Samantha Bookman, editor of FierceOnlineVideo, recently sat down and spoke with Tom Christie, Chief Operating Officer for Showtime, at the INTX Show in Boston about Showtime's online video strategy and his view of the changing multichannel industry.
