Time Warner Cable Business Class establishes network, cloud services bundle

Time Warner Cable Business Class (NYSE: TWC) is giving its business customers an option to simplify their service experience by offering a bundle of cloud and network services.

Under this structure, TWCBC customers can use the cable MSO's network to connect to its NaviSite subsidiary's managed cloud services.

NaviSite offers business customer a host of traditional customer cloud services, including Application Services, Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Hosting Services.

Given the ongoing security concerns of migrating to the cloud, TWCBC will house a client's data in five of NaviSite's cloud data centers. Each of these centers feature enhanced security, fire protection and back-up power systems.

NaviSite claims that its hosting infrastructure can achieve two goals: reduce operating cost and decrease downtime risks.

This offering is part of TWCBC's "One Network. One Cloud. One Provider." campaign that it said is focused on generating awareness for its managed cloud solutions.

Tying its network and cloud capabilities as a common solution makes sense for TWCBC.

The service provider could potentially attract and couple the cloud services with its growing base of Ethernet services, which it expanded on a nationwide basis last year through a mix of its own facilities and through a set of new External Network to Network Interconnection (E-NNI) agreements.
